This was WONDERFUL! I've not seen the German film, and I realize that the Hollywood version is widely despised, but there is in it a dreaminess that is really haunting and bittersweet.
This story was exactly like that. The vignettes of people's lives as seen through their eyes were sharp and so in focus, I felt like I would know those people. Great job with that.
John, seeing and knowing and Dean realizing that John was their father...Oh man. I sobbed. Then Sam, falling, asking Dean if he should, and Dean's response. Just gorgeous, evocative writing. REally good stuff, and I'm still crying.
and OMG, when Jess died. Sam telling her not to look. I lost it. I couldn't see my screen anymore.
I'm so putting this in my memories to come back to again and again. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
