oh god I'm one of those awful, nerdy nitpickers. It's just... if you get a chance and are interested at ALL, read a bit about the 1918 flu epidemic. Or if avian flu actually does end up wiping out most of the world's population as my mother loves to predict, this will be a whole lot more relevant, eh?
